Ever since Myspace decided to upgrade their music player and give the big record companies some…uhm…space, the files of two of our songs (“Bad Boy (For You)” and “My Generator”) suddenly disappeared from the player and are currently not available. You might think it’s just a matter of uploading them once again, but no, Myspace has an error that prevents us form doing that. What to do?

Rebolt is featured on the cover-cd of Classic Rock Magazine this month with our 2006 song “Bad Boy (For You)”. The cd is put together with artists that is inspired by AC/DC, to coincide with the imminent “Black Ice” release. Other artists on the cd are Saxon, Airbourne, The Donnas, Krokus and the band that inspired “Bad Boy”; Rose Tattoo. This is a great honour for us and a wonderful chance to get the world to experience the no-nonsense rock of Rebolt! 🙂

…a nice guy and a friend of the band called Magnus. We had a rehearsal/audition with him Sunday evening and we immediately “clicked” with him. More rehearsing will commence in the weeks to come, preparing for our first gig in 15 months on November 21st. Watch this space!
We’re doing a show at Kroa i Bø, Telemark (where we debuted in 2004) on the 21st of November. This will be our first show since August 2007! We haven’t recruited the new drummer yet, but we will very soon. So keep on dropping by!
We got a shot of inspiration shortly after the news of Kristian. Can’t really say what it is yet, but we are indeed in search of a replacement of Kristian! This initiative comes from Kristian himself and we wouldn’t have considered it if it hadn’t been for the fact that he wants the band to continue in a strong way. He says he can live with not playing if the band continues.
We’ve already been in touch with a great young drummer we know, but nothing is settled yet. Actually, we haven’t even met with him yet. Kristian will also be part of this and though he may never play in Rebolt again, he will still be in the band, in my mind.

We have some bad news. As many of you know, Kristian (the drummer) has been having terrible problems with his hearing the last couple of years. This lead the band to a hiatus last August and the band has not been practicing or playing since then. Over the months Kristian has felt better and was getting optimistic towards playing again and lately we’ve been trying to get together again to practice. We haven’t succeded with this because of some scheduling problems. So the overall atmosphere on the band was optimistic.
But this week Kristian visited a couple of experts in Oslo and the feedback was not what we wanted to hear: Kristian may never be able to play the drums again. Just a little too much sound may make him disabled for the rest of his life. This is terrible for the band, but for Kristian it is more than that: Drumming is his life, his passion, his everything. There is no purpose in even trying to understand what he must going through right now. It’s completely and utterly horrific.
As I’ve written before, Kristian is the life and blood in the band and the rest of us don’t know what we’re going to do yet. Will we replace Kristian and try to keep the songs we, and so many others, love alive? We don’t know. It’s not the time to speculate in this. But there will be an answer to it in the near future.
Join me in wishing Kristian the very best and that he hopefully will be able to pick up the sticks once again and rock out like no one else can!
